Since 1970, U.S. Nameplate Company has been owned and managed by Dick Novetzke, Chairman of the Board. A former Navy pilot, Dick expanded the facility and production capacity four times to its current 77,000 square feet. Although U.S. Nameplate started with metal plates only, Dick followed customer needs as well as industry trends so that we now print, etch, emboss, form, die-cut, and fabricate a wide variety of metal and flexible substrates, using unlimited range of colors and designs.

John Chehak, President, is responsible for the decision-making and daily operational results of U.S. Nameplate. Among his many duties, John focuses on the tradition of high production quality, exceptional customer service, new product development, new technology research, new opportunities, and an expanding sales force. John comes to U.S. Nameplate with more than 35-years management experience in a cross-section of business environments. His expertise in seeing the “big picture” and his ability to adapt to our customer’s needs will lead U.S. Nameplate into a productive, stable, and competitive future.

Susan Torbett, a 25+year employee at U.S. Nameplate serves as our National Sales Manager. Susan’s duties include the management of the customer service department, our network of national sales representatives, independent brokers, new product introduction, trade show representation, new customer acquisition, and customer satisfaction. She is a dedicated employee focused on ensuring that our customers receive the highest attention to detail, accuracy, and timely delivery of the order. Susan’s knowledge of U.S. Nameplate operational activities is invaluable to our customers. Her dedication to our customers surpasses all industry expectations.

Andrew Novetzke, Western Regional Sales Manager, resides in Salt lake City, Utah. As a 13-year veteran of U.S. Nameplate, Andrew is responsible for sales, service, and development within an 11-state western territory. He regularly attends trade shows, serves on many of our member organization boards, and helps develop new industry markets. Andrew’s goal is to grow the company by serving customers with fairness and honesty.


Nathan Smith is our Production Engineer with responsibilities ranging from purchasing to ISO 9001 certification. Nathan’s additional duties include managing our quality standards, safety, cross training, and equipment maintenance. Nathan is dedicated to ensuring that our customers receive the highest standard of quality workmanship. He has received his certificate of training in 6 Sigma that ensures quality project results.

Dan Wolfe is the Company Controller and is responsible for all accounting and human resources functions. Dan has been with the company for more than 13-years. Dan provides daily metrics that help support the management of the company.

A graduate of the University of Iowa in business and marketing, she is an expert in all aspects of customer service. Debbie Lynott has been with the company for 25+ years. Her customers know that they can depend on her for excellent customer care.
